About Heather Bruce
Following a successful career in banking, I retrained to focus on my interest in sport and holistic treatments, spending years in Europe managing and treating alpine ski athletes as well as helping run teaching courses in the UK for therapeutic massage.
Over the past 10 years my clinical focus increasingly became the fascinating world of lymphatics. From scar therapy, wellness MLT & pre and post op MLD and lymphoedema management, I have trained with leading organisations and I keep current with the latest scientific developments. I incorporate Deep Oscillation Therapy, K-taping and compression garment fitting into treatments when appropriate.
A highlight of my training was in the prestigious Wood MediSpa, which included live streaming into theatre, watching and having explained the process of several surgeries including abdominoplasty, 360 lipo and breast augmentation.
HB Lymphatics offers mobile treatments to your home in addition to a weekly residency at the Surrey Massage Clinic in Dorking.

MLD Pre/Post Operative
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) for pre- and post-operative care is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique that helps prepare your body for surgery and support healing afterwards. Before surgery, MLD encourages healthy lymph flow, reduces fluid build-up and swelling, and can help your tissues be in the best possible condition for your procedure. After surgery, MLD is used alongside DOT and K-Taping (where appropriate) to gently move excess fluid away from the affected area, reduce swelling and bruising, ease discomfort, and support your body’s natural healing process. This can help improve mobility, soften scar tissue over time, and may support a smoother, more comfortable recovery.

02
MLD Lymphoedema/Lipoedema
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) for lymphoedema and lipoedema management is a specialised massage that helps move excess fluid out of swollen areas and back into the lymphatic system. By encouraging better lymph flow, MLD can reduce swelling, feelings of heaviness and tightness, and discomfort in the affected limbs. Over time, regular MLD can help improve skin condition, support mobility and work alongside compression and other treatments to better manage symptoms and maintain day-to-day comfort.

03
Scar Therapy
Scar therapy is a gentle, hands-on treatment that helps improve the look, feel and comfort of scar tissue after surgery or injury. Using a combination of techniques, including DOT and K-Taping, this treatment works to soften tight or raised scars, reduce sensitivity, and support better movement in the surrounding tissues.
04
Deep Oscillation Therapy (DOT)
Deep Oscillation uses a pulsed electrostatic field that creates oscillation in the skin and deeper tissues via the therapist's gloved hands. It helps to reduce swelling, improve circulation and encourage healing from within. DOT can be used to benefit a variety of different conditions including: manage lymphoedema/lipoedema, reduce inflammation, and reduce fibrosis in scar tissue. Due to the non-invasive, non-traumatic and gentle nature of this therapy, it can be used from day one post-operatively.

05
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
A gentle massage technique designed to boost the lymphatic system, helping to reduce fluid retention, boost circulation and eliminate toxins. This deeply calming treatment is highly effective in restoring balance, enhancing skin health and reducing stress.

Deep Tissue Therapeutic Massage
My deep tissue treatment is a blend of many techniques seen in other individual modalities, ie, Sports, Shiatsu, Swedish, Reflexology, Yoga Breathing etc. It is quite amazing! Taking an holistic, whole body, approach to identify any areas where the person on the table is holding tension (tense muscles often feel tender when pressed). Deep massage, stretches, as well as more intricate techniques right into the fingers/toes are used to excavate and eliminate held tension resulting in real relief when it is lifted. Pressure levels are adapted to each person and every treatment is unique and tailored to the individual.
